We built these twin-tube infrared lamps for one reason: to make glass cutting clean. The whole point is to stop the chipping and tiny cracks before the blade even makes contact.
The Power Behind the Precision
Here’s the thing about these lamps—they’re all about focused heat. We’re talking a 400V system pushing out 2500W, all packed into a 300mm tube. That’s a serious amount of heat, but it’s not for warming a room. It’s engineered to create a small, intense thermal zone right where you need it—in seconds. That 300mm length is key. It gives you a tight, precise heat zone. No wasted energy. No overheating the glass around the cut. You get exactly the temperature rise you need, exactly where you need it.
What’s Inside Matters
Inside, you’ve got a halogen-filled quartz tube. The halogen gas keeps the filament stable, even when it’s running hot. This means no blackening and consistent output, even after thousands of cycles. The tube is also coated to direct the infrared energy straight onto the target. No scattering. Just a focused blast where it counts. And for the wiring, we use an R7s connector. It’s a standard industrial workhorse. That means installation is a simple, drop-in replacement on most automated lines. You get it wired up fast, and it holds up to the daily grind of the factory floor.
The Payoff: Cleaner Cuts, Fewer Headaches
Glass cracks and chips when internal stress meets a cold, brittle edge. Preheating with the infrared lamp changes that. It gently raises the surface temperature just enough to ease that stress and make the glass more flexible on a microscopic level. The result? A cleaner cut.
