The Gear You Actually Need

They hit their peak temperature in seconds, so you aren’t standing there shivering while you wait for the heater to “wake up.” But here is where people usually mess up:the plug. You can’t just grab a cheap smart plug from the drugstore and plug in a 2000W heater. It’ll fry the contacts and probably trip your breaker. Instead, we use heavy-duty relays. They’re built to handle that massive initial surge of power without breaking a sweat.
Making it “Smart”
The goal is a one-click experience. You hit a button in your app or tell your voice assistant “Bathroom Warm,” and the logic controller flips the relay. Simple. To keep your electric bill from skyrocketing, we usually toss in a temperature and humidity sensor (like the DHT22). It keeps an eye on the room. If the bathroom is already a cozy 22°C, the system just kills the power. No sense in wasting energy when you’re already warm.
A Few Things to Watch Out For
Short-wave infrared is great, but it can be a bit “aggressive.” You’ll feel toasted wherever the lamp is hitting you, but the corners of the room might still feel chilly. To fix this, don’t just put one big lamp in the middle—stagger them. It spreads the heat around much better. Also, keep an eye on your wiring. These units pull a lot of current. If your wires are too thin, you’ll get voltage drops, and your lamps will start to flicker. Not exactly the relaxing vibe you want for a morning shower.
